Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heart Transplant Coordinator to join our team at Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals. As a key member of our transplant program, you will play a vital role in coordinating the care of solid organ transplant patients and living donors.

Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison with the organ procurement organization and the OPTN
  • Assess human, financial, and material resources of patients and families
  • Coordinate information flow among medical, ancillary, nursing, financial, and insurance company staff
  • Represent the transplant program through involvement in hospital and community activities
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the transplant statistical database
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
  • Two years critical care experience for thoracic coordinator
  • One year experience in management of organ failure/transplant/VAD patients preferred
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider required within 6 months of hire or transfer
