Position SummaryAs a Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused, and efficient care to a diverse range of patients. This role includes providing care in various settings, including outpatient, sub-acute, and acute care environments, ensuring comprehensive treatment for all patients under your care. The position requires a full-time commitment of at least forty (40) hours per week, with flexible scheduling options to meet patient needs and on-call responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all patient services in accordance with established standards.
- Promoting the objectives of the medical center through active involvement in quality assurance initiatives.
- Overseeing the administrative functions of non-physician staff to ensure efficient practice operations.
- Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participating in financial planning and monitoring expenditures to achieve fiscal goals.
- Exhibiting professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions, fostering positive relationships with patients and enhancing the practice's reputation.
- Engaging in community outreach and professional networking to elevate the visibility and standing of the practice.
- Collaborating with leadership to refine business strategies and practice methodologies to maximize productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Contributing to initiatives aimed at improving care effectiveness and efficiency.
Education and Experience:
- Valid and active medical license to practice in the State of Maryland.
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
- Current DEA or equivalent certification for controlled substances.
- Clinical privileges at a minimum of one affiliated acute care facility.
- Evidence of meeting Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and board certification.
- Proven qualifications and experience to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, patients, and colleagues.
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic capabilities in gastroenterology.
