Position Summary

Role Overview:

As a Gastroenterologist within our esteemed institution, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care to a diverse array of patients. This position involves providing care across various settings, including outpatient, sub-acute, and acute care environments, ensuring comprehensive treatment for all assigned individuals. The role requires a full-time commitment of at least forty (40) hours per week, with flexible scheduling options to meet patient needs and on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all patient services rendered in accordance with established standards.
  • Promoting the objectives of the institution through active involvement in quality assurance initiatives.
  • Overseeing the administrative functions of non-physician staff to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures, as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participating in financial planning and monitoring expenditures to achieve fiscal targets.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and tact in all interactions, enhancing patient relations and promoting a positive image of the practice.
  • Engaging in outreach and networking activities to elevate the visibility and reputation of the practice.
  • Collaborating with leadership to refine business strategies and practice methodologies to maximize productivity and patient satisfaction.
  • Contributing to initiatives aimed at improving care effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications

Education and Credentials:

  • Current medical license to practice in the State of Maryland.
  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Current DEA or equivalent certification for Narcotics and Controlled Substances.
  • Clinical privileges at a recognized acute care facility.
  • Evidence of meeting Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and board certification.
  • Demonstrated experience and qualifications to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with hospital staff, patients, and colleagues.
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in the field of gastroenterology.
