Position Summary

As a Gastroenterologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused, and cost-effective healthcare to a diverse population. This position involves providing care across various settings, including outpatient, sub-acute, and acute care environments, ensuring comprehensive management for all patients under your care. The role requires a full-time commitment of at least forty (40) hours per week, with flexible scheduling options to meet patient needs and on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all patient interactions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Advancing the objectives of the medical center through active involvement in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Overseeing the operational duties of non-physician personnel to ensure efficient practice management.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participating in financial planning and monitoring expenditures to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and tact in all communications, fostering positive relationships with patients and promoting the practice's reputation.
  • Engaging in outreach and networking activities to enhance community presence and professional relationships.
  • Collaborating with management to refine business strategies and practice methodologies to boost productivity and patient satisfaction.
  • Contributing to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery and outcomes.
Qualifications

Education and Credentials:

  • Current medical license to practice in the State of Maryland.
  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid DEA or equivalent certification for controlled substances.
  • Clinical privileges at an affiliated acute care facility.
  • Compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and board certification.
  • Proven experience and qualifications to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, patients, and staff.
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in gastroenterology.
