The Assistant Production Manager is instrumental in aiding the Theatrical Stage Production Manager at the BJCC Concert Hall & Theater. This role encompasses the oversight of technical operations for events, including the management of audio, lighting, video, and overall production logistics.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the setup and dismantling of events
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, promoters, and vendors for the arrangement of audio/visual and scenic elements
  • Ensure the efficiency and safety of all technical operations
  • Supervise the installation of equipment, lighting systems, and backstage activities
  • Coordinate with Front of House management to facilitate public access
  • Maintain and manage venue equipment, assisting with routine maintenance
  • Operate and program audio and lighting systems
  • Manage inventory of production technical equipment
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges to guarantee successful events
  • Assist in the maintenance and testing of equipment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in theater and performance venue environments
  • Preferred training from a trade or technical school
  • Certification from the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of audio/visual and stage management practices
  • Experience in event and stage management
  • Familiarity with Fly Rail Systems
  • Ability to comprehend and execute instructions effectively
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and project management skills

This position may require working in both indoor and outdoor settings, with associated risks. Physical demands include the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and maintain flexibility for prolonged periods of activity.

This is a full-time role with adaptable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event requirements.

The BJCC provides a dynamic work atmosphere in the heart of a lively entertainment district.
