Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and manage the stockroom operations, ensuring support for the teaching and research functions of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure necessary supplies and materials.
  • Process requisitions for items available under State Contract.
  • Oversee record maintenance, pricing of supplies, and billing processes.
  • Supervise stockroom staff and work-study students, managing their schedules and responsibilities.
  • Receive and inspect materials, ensuring timely delivery to users.
  • Manage inventory levels, preparing reports on stockroom activities.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety to maintain a chemical inventory database and facilitate hazardous waste disposal.
  • Refill cryogenic cylinders as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of experience in procurement, storage, and accounting for property, including one (1) year in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background in science, preferably chemistry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Working Conditions:
  • May involve exposure to various weather conditions.
  • May work around chemical fumes and biohazards.
  • Standard office conditions may apply.
