Job Summary

The Cardiac Care Coordinator is a professional nurse who plays a critical role in monitoring cardiac patient care through intervention, ICU care, stabilization, rehabilitation care, and discharge. This position requires a strong leadership role in the hospital and community, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. The coordinator provides staff education for the ED, physicians, and critical care areas, collaborates with the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement for all PI related to the cardiac patient, and collaborates with the Chest Pain Center Medical Director regarding education for the ED physicians. The Coordinator is responsible for development and updates of internal Policies and Procedures. This position assists with the day-to-day operation of the CV departments, including assistance with all personnel invasive cardiology procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN, RCVT, RTR, and/or RCIS licensure
  • BLS, ACLS
  • Any other certifications staff nurses in area managed are required.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills
  • Ability to use computer-driven patient care equipment
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment; able to handle multiple priorities at one time
  • Able to supervise multiple areas

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

Education:

Required: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of cardiovascular technology.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Experience:

Required: 2 years in cardiac catheterization and special procedures

Preferred: 1 year management

Certifications:

Required: RNs must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy, ARRT, ACVT, or RCIS; AHA BLS. Additional AHA certifications as required by unit.

Preferred: LMRT
