Full-Time Medical Provider: Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Provider to join our team at Asheville Detox Center. Our center provides high-quality, compassionate care to individuals battling addiction, and we are committed to delivering effective, necessary services within a serene environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans, emphasizing evidence-based interventions and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
- Prescribe and manage medications for addiction and other health conditions, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
- Provide ongoing patient education and counseling on substance abuse, health maintenance, and disease prevention.
- Work closely with therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including confidentiality and HIPAA.
- Participate in continuous education, staff meetings, and case reviews to stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in addiction medicine.
- Handle medical emergencies and provide appropriate care as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
- Experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and other addiction treatment modalities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work compassionately with a diverse patient population.
