Neuro Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider

As a vital member of the Neuro Critical Care team, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be responsible for the management of critically ill patients within the Neuro ICU setting. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct clinical services to critically ill adult patients experiencing multi-system failure, adhering to evidence-based clinical practice standards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining health histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, effectively communicating the necessity and anticipated outcomes to patients and their families.
- Perform advanced procedures such as CPR, airway management, and the insertion of central venous catheters.
- Utilize monitoring equipment and educate team members on its use.
- Participate in admissions and consultations within the Neuro ICU, collaborating closely with the Neuro-Intensivist.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for acute illness management in conjunction with supervising physicians.
- Monitor patient status and initiate emergency interventions as required.
- Assist in the perioperative management of patients admitted to the ICU.
Work Schedule:
This position involves night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with the opportunity for additional shifts.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (Acute Care Certification) or Physician Assistant Studies.
- 1-2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU setting as a PA or ACNP.
- Prior experience as an RN in a Neuro ICU is highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current and valid Florida PA or APRN license.
- Certification from NCCPA, ANCC, or another nationally recognized organization.
- BLS & ACLS certifications; ENLS preferred.
