About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our INEOS Composites team in Pittsburgh. As a key member of our EHS function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and environmentally responsible operation of our chemical plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective environmental, health, and safety programs to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and environmental incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to optimize process efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize the carbon footprint of our operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate and report on environmental and safety incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a safe and effective response to environmental and safety incidents.
  • Manage and maintain environmental permits and licenses, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and improve our environmental performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, preferably in a chemical plant or refining industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to complex environmental and safety challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong bias towards excellent EHS performance.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in environmental and safety software and systems.
