Job Title: Community Outreach and Engagement Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Outreach and Engagement Manager to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a Community Outreach and Engagement Manager, you will play a critical role in promoting health and well-being within and across all communities and populations in New Mexico through the principles of applied epidemiology, public health theory, and quality improvement practices.

In this position, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners to ensure comprehensive, quality health data are available and accessible to the public and stakeholders in New Mexico. You will also serve as the premiere expert in the agency on health communications, data interpretation, and dissemination, working closely with internal, interagency, and external partners to improve the dissemination of epidemiologic findings and communication of health information and programs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing plans to engage with communities and stakeholders to promote health and well-being.
  • Working with NM Data Stewards to identify and collect latest available data in the development of Community Indicator Profiles, Epidemiology Reports, Press Releases, and/or other publications and mediums.
  • Disseminating information virtually and/or in person via presentations or at events throughout the State of New Mexico.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Science, Social Sciences, or Statistics.
  • Experience in health communications, health education, and/or marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation.
  • Ability to interpret epidemiological findings and translate into tailored messaging for a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to be responsive to multiple priorities and deadlines while complying with state and federal regulations.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $54,760 - $87,616 per year, depending on experience.
