The State of North Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Programming Specialist to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services. As a Behavioral Programming Specialist, you will play a critical role in the coordination of individual behavior programming for individuals with significant intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of individual behavior programming, including gathering and collecting behavioral data, completing evaluations of individual adaptive, developmental, and/or social behaviors, and developing behavior interventions.
  • Work closely with the treatment team to develop and implement behavior support programs, including observing, recording, and evaluating adaptive, social, and/or developmental behavior.
  • Function as a liaison between the treatment team and other stakeholders, providing input into habilitation planning and ensuring effective communication.
  • Develop and implement behavior modification programs, including training and program monitoring, to support individuals with significant intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, social work, education, nursing, or a closely related field, including coursework in behavior modification.
  • Experience working with individuals with significant intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including experience in behavior support programs and habilitation planning.
  • Strong knowledge of learning theory and behavioral analysis, as well as the principles and techniques of working with individuals with significant intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, including treatment team members and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
