The organization is seeking enthusiastic candidates for the position of Security Team Specialist I.

The chosen individual will be responsible for conducting regular patrols to safeguard life and property while ensuring a secure environment by adhering to applicable laws, regulations, and policies.


Position Details:
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week.

Work Schedule:
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Days Off:
Week 1: Sunday & Wednesday
Week 2: Tuesday & Saturday

Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct patrols of all facilities, grounds, and surrounding areas at regular intervals to prevent trespassing, theft, fire, and property damage.

- Exercise law enforcement authority to detect and apprehend violators; investigate incidents and complaints.

- Maintain order among visitors and staff; manage vehicle traffic on premises, including parking enforcement and addressing speeding issues.

- Perform security tasks such as screening visitors, directing traffic, and enforcing parking regulations.

- Provide personal protection as necessary, including searching for missing items and individuals, conducting surveillance, and investigating suspicious activities.

- Assist during emergencies, including severe weather events and disasters, and coordinate with professional services as needed.

- Facilitate training sessions on fire safety, crime prevention, and basic safety protocols for staff and external agencies utilizing the facilities.

- Oversee the maintenance of firefighting equipment, alarm systems, and other safety measures; report any defects and request repairs to meet safety standards.

- Monitor communication systems, gauges, and alarm panels; take appropriate action in case of malfunctions or alarms, including system resets.

- Prepare detailed reports on investigations and significant incidents during shifts.


Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in tactfully interacting with individuals under stress.
- Ability to apprehend trespassers and law violators.
- Capacity to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Skill in handling confidential information discreetly.
- Proven ability to document reports and gather information through interviews and record examination.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in security within a healthcare setting.


- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage positively with staff and community members.


- Awareness of cultural diversity and commitment to equitable treatment for all campus visitors.


- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is advantageous.


Minimum Entrance Requirements:
None.

Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.


- Eligibility for appointment as a special police officer as per Massachusetts General Laws.


- Compliance with vaccination requirements for COVID-19 and Influenza as mandated for certain agency staff.
