Position Overview
Under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment, this role involves conducting advanced investigations and inspections of unregulated child care facilities in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Human Resources Code (HRC), Minimum Standards, and Child Care Regulation Policy and Procedures Handbook (CCRPPH).

Key Responsibilities
1. **Inspection Oversight**: Manage the inspection process of unregulated child care operations, compiling, reviewing, and analyzing information to identify non-compliant facilities.
2. **Investigation Initiation**: Initiate thorough investigations of unregulated facilities, ensuring compliance with established standards.
3. **High-Risk Follow-Up**: Oversee follow-up actions on high-risk unregulated operations to ensure appropriate closure and evaluate new applications for licenses and registrations.
4. **Evidence Collection**: Establish priorities and methods for securing evidence related to unregulated child care operations, processing exemptions to determine compliance with criteria.
5. **Documentation Management**: Prepare documents regarding compliance or noncompliance with standards, notifying child care providers of necessary enforcement actions.

Additional Duties
6. **Complaint Investigations**: Oversee investigations of complaints and serious incidents involving unregulated child care facilities, ensuring timely and effective responses to emergency situations.
7. **Training and Support**: Provide training and technical assistance to child care providers regarding minimum standards, rules, and laws, making recommendations for compliance improvements.
8. **Community Engagement**: Lead community engagement efforts, participating in activities to inform the public and stakeholders about unregulated child care operations.

Professional Development
Maintain ongoing education and current knowledge of child development, regulatory practices, health and safety, and applicable laws to support the mission of Child Care Regulation.

Other Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the unit.
