Merrick & Company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and construction of complex manufacturing processes and facilities. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary project team, you will be responsible for executing the conceptual and detailed mechanical design of projects, including planning, calculations, equipment selection, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the mechanical design team and collaborate with the project team to execute the conceptual and detailed mechanical design of complex manufacturing processes and facilities.
- Complete detailed engineering calculations to size equipment and pipe systems, specifications, technical reports, and vendor coordination.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards for the design and construction of industrial processes, systems, and facilities.
- Develop and maintain skills in required software packages, including AutoCAD, REVIT, and Plant 3D.
- Perform site inspection, construction support, testing, and commissioning of equipment and facilities as required, which may include travel within the United States.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution required.
- A minimum of four (4) years related experience.
- Experience in aspects of mechanical project design, including planning, calculations, equipment selection, schematic design, production of construction documents, and construction administration.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing design and construction knowledge.
- Proficient in report writing, including basis of design reports, specifications, field reports, etc.
- Candidate must be able to travel.
- Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
- Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
- Demonstrated experience in building HVAC, industrial ventilation, utilities systems and piping, and plumbing.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and other calculation software (CAESAR II, AFT Fathom, Trane Trace, etc.).
