This non-exempt role involves operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, to execute a variety of tasks within the pipe crew, including excavation, pipe installation, and earth moving and grading. You will be accountable for the safe operation of machinery, as well as its maintenance and upkeep.
Specific Duties:
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, which includes cleaning, lubricating, and servicing machines.
Utilize hand controls and pedals to maneuver equipment and manage attachments such as blades, buckets, and swing booms.
Collaborate with the field manager to discuss daily work plans, review blueprints when necessary, and determine the safest and most efficient methods to complete assigned tasks accurately and timely.
Adhere to Allan Myers policies, including but not limited to:
Equipment maintenance and repair protocols and Operator Safety Standards.
Prioritize safety in all operations, ensuring compliance with the "Home Safe Tonight" initiative and related policies.
Accommodations may be available to assist individuals with disabilities in performing essential job functions.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment is required (experience with water mains, storm drains, or sanitation systems is preferred).
A valid driver's license is mandatory.
A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is advantageous.
Relevant work experience is necessary.
