Role Summary and Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) deliver direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, collaborating with the nursing team in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Work alongside healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans based on patient responses.
  • Perform nursing tasks safely under the indirect supervision of an RN.
  • Provide individualized education to patients and their families as directed by the RN.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards in patient care delivery.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to job duties.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by the RN, Nurse Manager, or Director.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
  • Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Current licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Some departments may require completion of an ADN or BSN within specified timeframes from the date of hire.
