Job Title: Senior Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director to join our team at Glomo. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational management of our logistics functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the Logistics Division
  • Provide leadership and direction to the logistics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Oversee the operations management team, representing all aspects including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to optimize cost-effectiveness and quality
  • Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to develop strategies for continuous new client development and retention of existing customers
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to tailor solutions and services to client expectations
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and standards ensuring the highest level of service delivery
  • Implement quality control measures and audits to identify and rectify deficiencies in operations
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to address customer complaints and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee administrative functions such as budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation within the Logistics Division
  • Contribute to the management of financial performance and accountability, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial targets
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and strategic planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with shared services departments to ensure alignment and coordination
  • Communicate effectively with internal / external stakeholders and partners to address issues, resolve conflicts, and drive results
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the VP/General Manager on areas of responsibility
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the integrity and security of the supply chain
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to anticipate and adapt to future challenges

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership skills and a strategic mindset
  • Deep understanding of supply chain logistics operations
  • Ability to withstand pressure inherent in a position at this level of professional responsibility
  • Decision making abilities and time management skills
  • Minimum requirement in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint of Intermediate Level (Advanced Level or higher preferred)
  • Knowledge of general commodities, freight, and high value products to include hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
  • Ability to negotiate rates with service providers
  • Ability to plan, direct and manage accurate asset management (warehouse inventories of various commodities-both receiving and releasing from any company occupied facility)
