We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Food and Nutrition team at Nyack Hospital. As a Food Service Host, Dietary Aide, or Cook, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality of food service.

Responsibilities:
  • As a Food Service Host, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting trays, menus, and nourishments to and from patients/residents, acting as a liaison between the patient, Food and Nutrition Department, and Nursing services during meal times.
  • As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for assembling patient meals on the kitchen tray line, ensuring accuracy of menu selection and adherence to diet requirements, as well as cold food preparation and stocking of tray line supplies.
  • As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing all meals for patients, employees, retail, and special functions, adhering to health code and sanitary requirements in food production and maintaining patient/customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Food Service Host: High School Diploma or GED required, one year of food service experience preferred, ability to speak, read, and write English, good communication and customer service skills, and basic math skills with money handling.
  • Dietary Aide: High school diploma or GED preferred, one year food service experience preferred, ability to speak, read, and write English, good communication and customer service skills, and basic math skills with money handling.
  • Cook: High School Diploma or GED required, prior food service experience necessary, one year experience in quantity food production preferred, ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner, and Serve Safe certification or equivalent preferred.
