Job Summary:

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, including accurate data entry, retrieving, counting, or pouring medications, and labeling products.
  • Maintain pharmacy records in accordance with Standard Practice and by law.
  • Provide excellent customer service, helping customers find over-the-counter items and answering their questions.
  • Understand and adhere to state-specific and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining pharmacy inventory, including ordering and returning products, stocking shelves, and proper separation and return of outdated products.
  • Participate in third-party audits as needed.
  • Contribute to department maintenance and cleanliness by maintaining the quality of the department's appearance and presentation.
  • Maintain and assist with ordering pharmacy department supplies.

Requirements:

  • Strong keyboard skills and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to prioritize multiple minor projects while maintaining customer focus.
  • Open schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Desire and ability to learn all aspects of pharmacy operations, including involvement with store leadership, scheduling, and other delegated duties.
  • Ability to train other department associates in all areas pertaining to department operation.
  • Promote and participate in initiatives to grow the pharmacy business as required.

Working Conditions:

Stand 100% of the shift with occasional walking short distances. Use of computer, pharmacy filling equipment, and register 90% of the time. Use hands to frequently/continuously handle a variety of sizes of containers, then manipulate individual pills/capsules and the equipment used to count them.
