Pharmacy Technician III

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at Hannaford Supermarkets. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting our pharmacists in preparing prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, greeting them and assisting with their needs.
- Help pharmacists prepare prescriptions, including accurate data entry, retrieving and counting medications, and labeling products.
- Maintain pharmacy records, ensuring compliance with Standard Practice and applicable laws.
- Ensure customer confidentiality and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Assist customers in finding over-the-counter items and provide information on pharmacy services.
- Follow and adhere to attendance and paid time off policies, as well as coordinate and assist with scheduling.
- Understand and adhere to state-specific and federal laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of pharmacy operations.
- Assist pharmacists in maintaining pharmacy inventory, including ordering and returning products, stocking shelves, and proper separation and return of outdated products.
- Maintain knowledge of physical inventory procedures and assist in the physical inventory process, including analyzing the condensed variance report and reports from Control D.
- Review and understand ACIS reports, and assist in third-party audits as needed.
- Share responsibility for department maintenance and cleanliness, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
- Maintain and assist with ordering pharmacy department supplies, including bottles, bags, labels, staples, and other necessary items.
- Observe, adhere to, and understand all company policies and Company Standard Practices.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and comply with company personal appearance and pharmacy dress code policies.
- Support company safety standards, communicating any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work and keeping the work area free of debris and safety hazards.
- Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect, fostering a positive and enthusiastic environment to retain associates and customers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug testing, as required.
- Maintain current national certification and state license, as required.
- Maintain advanced certifications, such as immunizer certification, and requirements.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong keyboard skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
- Effective time management skills and a sense of urgency.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

- Must be able to work with minimal supervision to prioritize multiple minor projects while maintaining customer focus.

- Open schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Desire and ability to learn all aspects of pharmacy operations, including involvement with store leadership, scheduling, and other delegated duties.
- Desire and ability to train other department associates in all areas pertaining to department operation.
- Promote and participate in initiatives to grow the pharmacy business, as required.
- Stand 100% of the shift with occasional walking short distances.
- Use of computer, pharmacy filling equipment, and register 90% of the time.
- Use hands to frequently/continuously handle a variety of sizes of containers, then manipulate individual pills/capsules and the equipment used to count them.
- Clerical accuracy skills and mathematical skills, including the ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to use office supplies, communication devices, and computer systems frequently.
- Frequent/continuous reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 20 lb. below the waist level and at or above shoulder level.
- Bend at the knees and waist repetitively throughout the workday.
- Have sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to process prescriptions and service customers.
