Responsibilities:
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to make recommendations for therapy changes, when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient medical history, clinical data, and laboratory results.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related queries, providing expert guidance and support.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including nursing staff, physicians, and other team members.
- Supervise the preparation of medications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, ensuring legal and stock control compliance.
- Maintain a secure environment for medications, adhering to industry standards.
- Participate in on-call duties, providing 24/7 support and expertise.
Requirements:
- Licensed pharmacist in the State of New York.
- Long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in hospital and retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software, including framework and ECM systems.
Work Schedule: 1:30pm-10:00pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends.
