Business Analyst Opportunity at University of Washington

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team at the University of Washington. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission to improve the health of the public by advancing medical knowledge, providing outstanding primary and specialty care to the people of the region, and preparing tomorrow's physicians, scientists, and other health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Analyze existing processes, workflows, and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise functional specifications.
  • Work closely with development teams to design solutions that align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with data and application architects to ensure technical feasibility of proposed software solutions.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards for decision-making.
  • Write comprehensive test cases and execute test cases to validate system functionality.
  • Assist project managers in planning, tracking, and executing IT projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diversity of personalities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Academic healthcare experience.
  • Working knowledge of program design and evaluation and change management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Project/Project Online, and/or SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis, including querying standard databases using SQL.
