Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our team at Scot Forge, a 130-year-old, 100% employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in setting up and operating CNC machines, editing programs, and ensuring the production of high-quality forged metal parts for demanding applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-precision forged metal parts
  • Edit programs to ensure accurate and efficient machining
  • Inspect and prepare materials for machining, including identifying forgings, material type, and verifying blueprint and dimensions
  • Load material into machines using overhead cranes and secure it for safe machining
  • Train on and inspect lifting equipment to ensure safe practices
  • Monitor the machining process, check parts throughout the run, and make necessary adjustments to conform to specifications
  • Complete production timecards and identification, ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • Complete necessary inspection and quality reports using measurement equipment
  • Clean and maintain equipment following TPM and 6S
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Pass a physical and a drug test
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior machining experience
  • Experience with common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, etc)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Mastercam Knowledge
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift 65 lbs (up to 5 times a day)
  • Shoveling of chips/swarf
  • Operating in an environment where temperatures can be above 100 Deg and below 30 Deg
  • Operate job duties in conditions where there is dirt, dust, loud noises, small areas, and areas where pinch points exist
  • Climbing, overhead lifting, standing for long periods of time
