Job Overview

CNC Machinist - Metal Fabrication Specialist

Join Scot Forge, a leading manufacturer of custom open die and rolled ring forgings, as a CNC Machinist - Metal Fabrication Specialist. This role involves operating CNC machines, monitoring production, and ensuring high-quality metal fabrication products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run production on CNC machines, lathes, mills, and saws, making necessary adjustments to conform to specifications.
  • Set up equipment, install tools, and fixtures, and monitor entire runs due to unique forgings.
  • Edit G and M programming codes, verify blueprint and dimensions, and identify forgings and material type.
  • Select, load, and verify existing programs to ensure safe and productive machining, and notify supervisors of changes.
  • Visually inspect, layout, and prepare materials as required, and examine material visually for flaws, defects, and clean-up.
  • Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure safe lifting and transporting of parts.
  • Load material into machines using overhead cranes and secure to ensure safe machining on forgings that can exceed 100,000 lbs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Manufacturing, production, and factory experience
  • Forklift experience
  • Blueprint reading (preferred)
  • Crane rigging and operation experience (preferred)
