The Material Handler 3 role is a senior position, typically full-time, which may involve orienting, training, and reviewing the work of fellow associates. This position may also carry the designation of a 'lead' associate and may include responsibilities such as counter or dispatch duties, along with backup driving tasks as needed.

The working schedule for this role is Sunday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with the understanding that schedules may adjust based on operational requirements. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Efficiently load, unload, and organize tires and automotive parts within a dynamic warehouse setting utilizing industrial equipment such as forklifts or picker machinery.
  • Maintain physical fitness through active engagement in hands-on tasks, with the expectation of lifting weights up to 80 lbs. Some storage racks reach heights of 25 feet, requiring comfort with working at elevated levels.
  • Stay mobile and prepared to be on your feet for extended durations, including willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Assist in orienting, training, and assessing the performance of other team members.
  • Serve as a backup driver when assigned or directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Physical requirements: The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, and/or smell. The employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 80 pounds, including handling tires weighing over 70 pounds.
  • Protective equipment: Required gear includes steel or composite toe boots, safety vests, harnesses, seatbelts, and self-retracting lifelines, with all equipment provided by U.S. AutoForce except for the boots.
  • Work environment: The employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions and the noise level is generally moderate. There may be fumes associated with tires and occasionally with automotive parts and lubricants.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to supervise or lead a team.
  • Basic computer skills are advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • Strong memory and accuracy in handling lengthy part numbers.
  • Basic reading and math skills are essential.
  • Above-average accuracy in scanning operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Capability to lift up to 80 pounds and work at heights of 25 feet regularly.
  • Willingness to be trained on and operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high-reach lifts.
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening (note: THC/marijuana is not tested).
