Job SummaryThe Operator - Heavy Equipment is a critical role within our recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station operations. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, ensuring the smooth flow of waste and materials.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front-end loaders, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor waste and materials for evidence of unacceptable waste and report any issues to supervisors.
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Document minor service and maintenance tasks, and report any necessary repairs to supervisors.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures, and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
- One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
