Role Overview: As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Correctional Health Services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals incarcerated in New York City jails. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, including psychopharmacologic interventions, and participate in treatment plan creation and patient referrals.

Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent and emergent consultations, Participate in treatment plan creation, Evaluate patients for higher-level care needs, Refer patients to higher levels of care as clinically appropriate, Provide consultation to non-prescribing staff about diagnosis, treatment, and/or the need for psychiatric medication, Counsel patients using advanced psychotherapeutic techniques, and Engage in clinical supervision as indicated.

Qualifications: A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse, Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the New York State Department of Education, A current certificate issued by the State Education Department to prescribe medication, Two years satisfactory experience as a Nurse Practitioner or two years satisfactory experience as a Registered Professional Nurse, eighteen months of which must be as a Nurse Practitioner, And at least three years of hospital experience both as RN & NP in Behavioral Health.

Estimated Salary: $165,000 per year
