About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Control Inspector to join our boat manufacturing team at Invincible Boat Company LLC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts and finished boats meet our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Analysis and Investigation:

    • Analyze and investigate quality issues to identify root causes and recommend effective corrective actions.
    • Document findings and ensure timely follow-up on corrective measures.
  2. Inspections:

    • Conduct thorough aesthetic and dimensional inspections of all manufactured parts and finished boats to ensure compliance with specifications.
    • Utilize various measurement tools and techniques to assess quality standards.
  3. Supplier Quality Management:

    • Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, effectively communicating findings to the Quality Control Manager and suppliers.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions and improvements.
  4. Documentation and Procedures Development:

    • Assist in developing and refining forms, procedures, and work instructions to streamline daily operations within the quality department.
    • Ensure all documentation is current, accurate, and easily accessible.
  5. Corrective Action Reporting:

    • Conduct and participate in corrective action reporting, ensuring all incidents are documented and resolved efficiently.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.
  6. Quality Standards Development:

    • Develop and maintain product quality standards, specifications, and criteria for acceptance to ensure consistent quality across all products.
    • Regularly review and update standards as necessary.
  7. Data Management and Reporting:

    • Provide necessary data and information to the Quality Control Manager for the review and updating of inspection data.
    • Analyze and Pareto inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement in internal defects per unit (IDPU)
  8. Monthly Reporting:

    • Compile and provide accurate information for monthly quality reports and corrective action plans.
    • Ensure data integrity and relevance in reporting.
  9. Continuous Improvement Promotion:

    • Actively promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across all processes and products.
    • Engage with team members to foster a culture of quality awareness and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in quality control, preferably in the manufacturing industry; boat manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in quality control methodologies and tools.
    • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30-50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels.
