Position Title: IT Trainer/Content Developer

Short Overview:

  • Under general guidance, facilitates IT application training sessions and creates/updates educational materials. Takes ownership of designated responsibilities.

Detailed Overview:

We are looking for a qualified individual who can travel to various office locations to conduct in-person training sessions multiple times a month and also provide online classes through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IT training to staff on proprietary and commercial software applications.
  • Receive training on these products and subsequently provide instruction for desktop, web, and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with users to assess training requirements, course offerings, and content development.
  • Manage training schedules and course listings within the Learning Management System, oversee learner registrations, assessments, and completions, and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms.
  • Build partnerships with various business units to enhance course participation and address technical training needs.
  • Develop and maintain IT training materials, including presentations, guides, manuals, and online training modules, in collaboration with technical staff.
  • Proficiency in creating training content using tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360/Storyline is highly desirable.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, performance metrics, and ensure data integrity.
  • Work collaboratively within the IT department, reporting to a Team Leader and participating in a team of IT Trainers and Instructional Designers.
  • Provide training on a range of applications related to transportation topics, including contract management, material testing, and emergency operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Following the guidance and objectives set by the Team Leader and IT management.
  • Keeping the Team Leader informed of work schedules and any potential issues.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of IT applications to effectively instruct users.
  • Coordinating training schedules and ensuring readiness of training environments.
  • Conducting both virtual and in-person training sessions.
  • Building strong relationships across the organization to identify training gaps and promote class enrollment.
  • Managing logistics for training sessions, including reserving facilities and confirming participant attendance.
  • Creating an engaging and positive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with travel policies.
  • Reviewing and updating training materials as necessary.
  • Participating in IT projects and providing training support during product rollouts.
  • Adapting to a dynamic and fast-paced IT environment.
