We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Educational Service District 112. This is a full-time, 185-day contract position serving the Klickitat and Glenwood School Districts.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide high-quality educational services to students with moderate to severe disabilities, ages 3-21. They will lead the IEP team in developing data-driven student learning and behavioral goals, and be responsible for developing curriculum and program strategies consistent with the student's learning level.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide classroom, small group, and one-on-one instruction to special education students.
- Conduct student assessments to determine program eligibility and services.
- Use technology to document data collection and track student progress.
- Develop and write daily lesson plans, and post monthly overviews on the school district website.
- Collaborate with general education staff and specialists to ensure a comprehensive education for students.
- Communicate with parents and students regarding transition goals and progress.
- Develop and adapt curriculum from general education to meet the needs of special education students.
- Supervise and train staff to support student learning.
- Write and conduct performance evaluations for classified staff.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Washington teaching certificate with K-12 special education endorsement.
- Experience in writing individualized curriculum and developing behavior management programs.
