POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Geriatric Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine is looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist.

This role is crucial for supporting a key component of the RISE grant, aimed at recruiting and engaging long-term care communities in continuous quality improvement initiatives and educational resources. The individual in this position will spearhead and implement communication strategies to ensure that over 40% of the South Central RISE long-term care communities have two or more participants involved in one or more activities/resources.
  • The successful candidate will be proficient in marketing and communications, possess exceptional communication skills, and understand engagement strategies across various workforce generations, as well as the specific challenges faced by the long-term care workforce. Familiarity with web design, social media, and email marketing platforms is essential.
  • Engagement and direct communication with long-term care communities.
  • Formulate and execute a communication strategy in collaboration with RISE partners, including the Pennsylvania Office of Long-Term Care Transformation.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to monitor the utilization of new communication resources.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • The ability to evaluate and analyze communication strategies, their effectiveness, and leverage that information to refine ongoing communication and engagement approaches.
  • Alongside the Principal Investigator and leaders of specific programs within RISE, this individual will require outstanding communication skills, with approximately 50% of their time dedicated to direct interaction with partners and up to 240 long-term care facilities, each involving 2-8 individuals.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team while also exhibiting confidence in leading aspects of marketing, recruitment, and engagement related to the grant.
  • As the primary expert on the grant team, this individual must be able to self-manage and fulfill deliverables set by the Principal Investigator once equipped with foundational knowledge about the grant.
This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from the date of hire, with the possibility of renewal.

The salary range for this position is:

$42,000 - $61,000.
