Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled EEG/EKG Technician to join our Cardiac Diagnostics Department at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As an EEG/EKG Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient requisitions and physicians' orders to obtain vital information needed prior to testing.
  • Identifies patients, explains testing procedures, and instructs them on how to prepare for the test.
  • Attaches electrodes to pre-determined positions on the arms, legs, chest, and head as necessary.
  • Operates electrodiagnostic machines according to manufacturer's recommendations and policy.
  • Maintains electrodiagnostic machines and equipment by cleaning and replacing electrodes, supplies, and tracing paper.
  • Applies and disconnects holter monitors, cardiac event monitors, and blood pressure monitors for patients.
  • Administers electroencephalograms (EEGs) when requested by a physician.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a diversified medical occupations program is preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • Ability to operate electrodiagnostic machines and related software.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds and be mobile.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize tasks.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
  • Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and effectively communicate and understand in both written and oral forms.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place.
