Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Meijer. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with patients at various service points of contact, providing friendly and professional service.
  • Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers, enhancing overall patient health.
  • Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory, ensuring timely and accurate dispensing.
  • Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders, maintaining accurate records and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Stock prescription medication, maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Utilize excellent organization skills to prioritize workload, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Develop effective communication skills, working collaboratively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional pharmacy environment, adhering to Meijer's high standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations and Meijer's confidentiality policies.
  • Meet licensure requirements in their respective state, or complete Meijer Employer-based training if licensure is not required.
  • Complete Meijer Retrobill training to comply with third-party processes.
  • Perform CLIA waived tests as part of the Meijer Health Screening Program.
  • Provide immunizations to Meijer patients, adhering to Meijer's immunization policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School/GED.
  • Registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
  • Retail/Community Practice experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Proficient Typing Skills.
  • Neat and Eligible Penmanship.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Prioritizing Skills.
