Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide psychiatric nursing care services to patients who are mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or mentally challenged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric nursing care services to patients under the supervision of a staff Psychiatrist or Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in facilitating patient therapy in-group or family sessions.
  • Administer medication under medical supervision.
  • Monitor and assist in providing dietary requirements of patients.
  • Provide close observation of patients and accurately document these observations.
  • Transport patients both within the hospital and to appointments outside the hospital.

Requirements:

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Psychiatric Technician license issued by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Pharmacology Test administered by the County.
  • Within the first 6 months of employment, must obtain certification in Professional Assault Response Training (PART).
