Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Prosperity Wellness Center. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing education, assessment, intervention, and outreach services to patients in our clinical programming.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide education and support to patients in our clinical programming, including alternative self-help meetings and individual sessions.
  • Meet with patients within 48 hours of admission to complete a patient engagement and review individual work and self-help introductions.
  • Maintain support in clinical programming with specialty groups and work with patients to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long-term recovery.
  • Orient patients to the program and schedules, and provide support to patient's families with patient consent.
  • Comply with facility policies and procedures, and participate in all staff meetings and in-services as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in behavioral health or substance treatment is strongly preferred.
  • Past experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required, and a valid driver's license is also required.
  • Minimum of 1 year sobriety, if in recovery, and First Aid, CPR, AED certification within 30 days of hire is required.
  • De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire and recertification annually thereafter is also required.
