Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Coach to join our team at Telecare Corporation. As a Peer Recovery Coach, you will engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served to assist them in exploring, creating, and meeting their own recovery goals.

You will provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture, as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS). This includes recognizing, understanding, respecting, and integrating each member's point of view and preferences into services and self-help programming.

Additionally, you will respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills, supporting a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a relationship of trust with each participant, functioning as a role model, peer support, mentor, advocate, and ally.
  • Communicate hope and encouragement to assist participants in developing readiness to discharge from the hospital and return to their community.
  • Offer assistance with independent living skills, coping skills, and community adjustment, helping the individual make a positive connection to outpatient behavioral health services and other community resources.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certified Peer Specialist and/or completed Peer Support Training
  • One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
  • Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
  • Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.
