As a Proposal Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Impulse Space produces exceptional proposals for competitive business opportunities, particularly those related to US Government programs. This position requires not only writing proposals but also collaborating with various teams across the organization, including Engineering, Finance, Legal, Mission Management, and Business Development. You will work closely with the Business Development team to assess opportunities, devise solutions, and communicate proposal strategies effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute significantly to the creation of technical proposals, serving both as a writer and editor.
- Oversee the proposal process, focusing on continuous improvement and efficiency for future submissions.
- Analyze and summarize complex requirements from new customer opportunities.
- Decompose proposal efforts into manageable tasks and coordinate input from technical experts.
- Establish and maintain proposal timelines.
- Assist in developing supporting graphics and materials for proposals.
- Edit proposals to enhance clarity, accuracy, and readability.
- Ensure compliance with submission guidelines.
- Maintain a repository of frequently used proposal information.
- Support other teams with writing, editing, and communication tasks, including technical white papers.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of proven experience in writing and/or editing roles.
- 2+ years of experience in publishing professional documents.
- Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in planning and managing schedules effectively.
- Degree in engineering, science, journalism, English, technical writing, or professional writing.
- 5+ years of experience in writing government proposals or grants.
- Technical knowledge relevant to the Aerospace industry.
- Experience managing large writing projects.
- Background in writing academic papers or technical white papers.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Exceptional English writing skills.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is a plus.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities, and internal equity. Full-time hires may also be eligible for long-term incentives, including stock options, as well as access to medical, vision, and dental coverage, along with a 401(k) retirement plan.
To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
