About the Role

The FP&A group at Dow Jones is seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst to support the business in financial planning and reporting. As a key member of the team, you will help develop, communicate, and monitor departmental budgets. This dynamic role will provide strategic business partner support and financial support with a focus on reporting and forecasting, as well as support for strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business partners to review and prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Update and run opex forecast models and scenario planning
  • Handle month-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and reclasses
  • Leverage key systems knowledge (SAP, BPC, TM1) to facilitate the creation of more robust analytics and reporting tools
  • Build and maintain strong business partner relationships with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, improve work efficiency, and quality
  • Complete additional ad-hoc requests
Requirements
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills; Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in PC skills, including experience with financial applications and reporting tools, specifically Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
  • Planning and organizational skills, including effective time management and attention to detail
  • Initiative and drive, with the ability to work well under pressure and as a team player with a strong work ethic
  • Experience maintaining accounting records and preparation of financial reports
  • Ability to recognize problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and define/suggest resolutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of business partners
  • Strong eye for detail and detail-oriented work practices
  • Knowledge of or experience with SAP, TM1, or related programs a plus
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience navigating a complex and challenging business environment
  • Ability to synthesize data and provide insightful narratives
