Position: Cashier

Family Farm and Home is a family-owned retail establishment dedicated to providing a diverse range of products tailored to meet the needs of our customers. Our mission is to deliver exceptional service while ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

Role Overview:

The Cashier plays a crucial role in our operations by delivering outstanding customer service and efficiently processing transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of payment procedures and the ability to execute tasks with precision and focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and promote the core values and mission of Family Farm and Home.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new cashiers.
  • Supervise and support the cashier team on a daily basis.
  • Maintain accurate cash control logs and reconcile cash drawers.
  • Achieve satisfactory results on corporate cashier audits.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cash register area.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding cash discrepancies.
  • Meet daily operational goals set by store management.
  • Welcome customers as they enter and exit the store.
  • Process transactions, including issuing receipts and handling refunds.
  • Ensure that purchased items are properly packed for customers.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Report any discrepancies to the head cashier or management.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by store management.
  • Encourage customers to participate in loyalty programs and promotions.
  • Handle phone inquiries as needed.
  • Uphold store cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Assist with closing procedures as required.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Cashiers must be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to operate cash register systems. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 50 lbs.
