Maintenance Technician Job Description

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This full-time position comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 403B with match.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform heavy cleaning of all equipment, sanitation of the floor, and production assistance with stock on delivery days.
  • Wash all wares, including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses, either by hand or using commercial dishwashers.
  • Correctly place and store all dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Stock serving stations, cabinets, refrigerators, servers, and kitchens with necessary dishes and utensils.
  • Take the trash to appropriate receptacles for disposal.
  • Conduct detailed heavy cleaning and sanitation of all work areas.
  • Receive and store raw and prepared food products.
  • Unload and stock new deliveries to ensure product availability.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment based on cleaning and routine maintenance schedules, using only approved chemicals and tools.
  • Follow cleaning program protocols for all assigned equipment.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using chemicals or deep cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain and rotate products to ensure dates have not expired and products are used timely.
  • Perform routine food service tasks under direct supervision of Supervisors and Managers.
  • Follow instructions and complete all assigned assignments.
  • Assist team members with their job functions as needed.
  • Display a cheerful, helpful, and professional appearance.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and a positive, calm environment.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and/or Operations Manager.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Past experience in heavy cleaning of kitchen equipment is preferred
  • Ability to follow directions, read SDS Sheets, and understand PPE equipment
