Job Summary

Futran Solutions is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our customers, ensuring their systems and equipment are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware and software installations and maintenance.
  • Provide on-site field support to customers, including installation, servicing, and repairing systems and equipment.
  • Resolve customer issues related to hardware installation, repair, upgrade, and maintenance.
  • Instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment.
  • Ensure issues are referred to the appropriate personnel or service areas for follow-up, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Act as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports on system problem trends and issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field support experience.
  • Ticket and asset management skills.
  • Strong hardware and software installation, support, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Windows XP, 10, and 11, as well as Mac OS and iOS.
  • Knowledge of network printer, HP configuration, consumable swaps, and moves.
  • Experience with Active Directory, MS Office, phone security, and OS365.
  • Networking troubleshooting and support skills.
  • Support skills for VPN connectivity and security.
  • Configuring new PCs and notebooks via imaging, SCCM, and standalone.
  • Remote install software and hardware support.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and hands-on support.
  • Lift and carry up to 40lbs.

Preferred Education and Training

  • High school or G.E.D.
  • Lenovo or other vendor certifications.
  • CompTia A+, Network+/Security+ (Preferred but not required).
  • Apple training (Preferred but not required).

Work Environment

  • Office environment.
  • Walk-up kiosk/vending and lock/network printers.
  • Data Center or Telco Closet.
  • May require weekend work for Critical and High Priority support only.
  • Will require shift work/On-call coverage.
