Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Protocol Testing Engineer to join our team at InterSources Inc. As a Protocol Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for debugging and performing engineering testing services for wireless clients utilizing wireless testing specified equipment to perform required tests.


Key Responsibilities
  • Debug and perform engineering testing services for wireless clients utilizing wireless testing specified equipment to perform required tests.
  • Maintain the test platforms CTIA/PTCRB/GCF and build knowledge on platforms by updating systems and isolating issues then communicating with test equipment service.
  • Conduct testing in accordance with wireless testing procedures, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery that ensures effective customer relations.
  • Ensure completion of all projects and relevant documentation in accordance with required procedures and standards to fulfill CTIA/PTCRB/GCF requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation to ensure the highest quality of service to clients.
  • Test system management, maintenance, and calibrations to ensure compliance with the wireless quality systems and to actively improve the testing service to client, and Maintain a high degree of specialized knowledge of wireless industry test requirements in order to assist customers and test equipment manufactures with technical issues.


Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in modem protocol verification testing.
  • Hands on experience in performing conformance testing of modem solutions capable of WCDMA/LTE/TD-SCDM.
  • Good knowledge of GCF/PTCRB, Telecommunication, Telecommunication, CMCC, ALU device certification process.
  • Strong understanding of 51.101, 36.523,36.521,34.229 is desired.
  • Experience working on WCDMA/LTE/ TSCDMA test simulators like Anite, R&S, Anritsu etc.
  • Good understanding of the PTCRB test cases.
  • Strong analysis and debugging skills and ability to debug UE test failures.
  • Must have strong knowledge on atleast two or more core technologies (GSM/GPRS/ WCDMA/ HSPA+/ LTE/ TDS) and RRM, Call Processing, Message flows for GSM/ GPRS /EDGE / Rel99/ Rel5 / HSDPA/ HSUPA/ HSPA+/LTE/TS-CDM.
  • Exposure to modem performance and stability test.


Additional Experience and Knowledge a Plus:
  • Experience in Channel Emulators like Keysight PropSim, Azimuth
  • Experience on Kubernetes and containerised environment
  • Experience in automation using python, robot framework


Android/System Level Testing
  • Strong interest in mobile application ecosystems and a 'passion' for mobile validation
  • Strong proficiency in SDK/Application Validation and Tools
  • Strong proficiency in Validation Methodology
  • Strong proficiency in unit testing and test automation is essential with exposure to test tools (e.g. Junit, AndroidX test tool, Expresso, Robolectric, Jacoco, Mockito, XCTest Framework, etc..)
  • Knowledge of iOS/Android development (Swift or Kotlin) is a strong advantage
  • Experience with agile methodology is preferred
  • Good knowledge with API design (client-server projects) and mobile SDK development
  • Some Knowledge on PKI, cryptographic and mobile app security.
  • Experience with mobile device hardware API (e.g. NFC, BLE, Biometric, Camera, Sensor, Secure Element, etc) is a plus
  • Experience with continuous integration and build automation (GIT/ Mercurial/Jenkins)
  • Team player
  • Fluent in English & excellent technical writing skills
  • Motivated self-starter, independent, autonomous & fast learner
  • Logical, creative problem-solving skills and excellent analytical skills
  • Willing to travel occasionally and work if needed with remote team.
  • Comfortable to work with parties across multiple geographical sites and flexible in working hours
