About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer to join our Land and Air Defense Systems team in Tewksbury, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings, and schematics to assess fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
  • Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
  • Collaborate with program management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal.
  • Perform System Safety Program or Design analyses.
  • Monitor program technical execution, interface with stakeholders, and prepare Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approval.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience.
  • Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, or equivalent Safety Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems.
  • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel.
