Contact Government Services, LLC is looking for a skilled FOIA Analyst to support the legal functions of a significant federal agency.
This role provides an opportunity for candidates to showcase their proficiency in managing FOIA requests, drafting correspondence, and engaging in negotiations, among other pertinent responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, review, and process incoming and outstanding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- Organize and prepare FOIA request documentation.
- Input request information into the FOIA tracking system.
- Compose response letters and other related FOIA communications.
- Facilitate discussions and negotiations with requesters, FOIA personnel, sponsors, and contractors regarding requested records and associated information.
- Act as a point of contact for requesters and, on occasion, other agencies and appellants concerning records that may involve multiple agency components.
- Coordinate searches for relevant documents and identify duplicate records.
- Evaluate program records for relevance and make release determinations.
- Ensure that released materials comply with applicable exemptions.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- Proven knowledge of FOIA regulations and rules, particularly in applying exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
- Experience in redacting documents containing trade secrets and confidential commercial information.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to obtain a government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with federal government operations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with FOIA management tools such as FOIA EXPRESS.
- Experience with SecureRelease software.
- Active security clearance is preferred.
