Role Overview

This position requires a skilled Field Service Technician to service various machines, including optical comparators, vision systems, hardness testers, and microscopes at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with metrology brands, and proficiency in reading technical diagrams.

The successful candidate will perform installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure these machines operate accurately and reliably. This includes working with mechanical, electrical, and software components.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on a variety of machines, including optical comparators, vision systems, and hardness testers
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex technical issues with precision instruments
  • Work independently, traveling to customer sites as needed, and utilizing company vehicle for transportation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical challenges and improve processes
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a calibration service technician or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with various metrology brands and software, such as Starrett, Micro-Vu, or Mitutoyo
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical diagrams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites in company vehicle
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred
  • Valid driver's license
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on skills and qualifications, ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, you can earn up to $550 monthly bonus based on productivity and quality. Other benefits include:

Your estimated annual salary for this role, considering your location and industry standards, would be approximately $70,000-$90,000. However, this estimate may vary based on individual performance and market conditions.
