**Job Summary**

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Weekend Custodian Assistant at Purdue University, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in our facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing custodial services for classrooms, offices, research labs, and public spaces
  • Developing relationships with building occupants and responding to their requests
  • Providing building access by locking and unlocking areas as scheduled by the department
  • Responding to campus crises situations to enhance public safety and minimize infrastructure damage

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in University facilities
  • Provide custodial services for various areas, including classrooms, offices, and public spaces
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with building occupants
  • Respond to requests and provide building access as needed
  • Participate in campus crises situations to ensure public safety and minimize damage

**Requirements:**

  • Must complete onboarding training or be enrolled in a program within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others
  • Basic math skills and good work organization
  • Ability to learn and use powered and non-powered floor care equipment
  • Ability to work well with others and work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees

**Nice to Have:**

  • One year of general work experience
  • A valid US or Canadian Driver's License
