Electrocardiogram Monitoring Specialist

Position Overview:
This role primarily functions as a Monitor Technician, responsible for the remote observation of 5-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) activities for patients situated in off-site nursing units, under the guidance of the charge nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous monitoring of EKG, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate (RR), and end-tidal CO2 at the Central Monitor Station.
- Ability to recognize EKG components, interpret fundamental arrhythmias, and identify ST-segment changes and QT prolongation.
- Detect and respond to actionable audio and visual alarms.
- Communicate age-specific variations in EKG, RR, and pulse oximeter readings to registered nurses and/or physicians promptly.
- Document and perform hand-off report census reconciliation, patient EKG activities, and equipment inventory.
- Maintain the Equipment Malfunction Log and follow the proper chain of command to report any malfunctioning equipment.
Compensation:
Salary range: $32.38 Hourly
Qualifications:
We are looking for a highly-skilled, self-motivated individual with:
- Preferred EKG certificate or certification.
- Preferred Associate degree or diploma.
- Experience in 5-lead EKG monitoring using Phillips monitor is highly preferred.
Work Environment:
This position may involve floating between various medical centers.
