Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

UC Health is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Radiology department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

About the Role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic studies, and organizing, executing, and controlling laboratory and/or research studies under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex diagnostic studies and therapeutic procedures
  • Operate imaging equipment and related devices for routine and specialty procedures
  • Perform quality control on instrumentation and ensure equipment is in proper working order
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and dispense them to patients in an appropriate manner
  • Monitor radiation levels and report any exposures or spills to supervisor and/or Radiation Safety Officer
  • Receive and dispose of radioactive shipments and contaminated materials in accordance with department, hospital, and federal regulatory agencies
  • Instruct undergraduate students, medical students, and Radiology/Cardiology residents and fellows
  • Participate in research conferences, continuing education, and workshops
  • Write project reports, articles, and other documents, and assist in preparing research papers and manuscripts for publication
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a completion of a collegiate Nuclear Medicine Program with NMTCB Certification, and a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging (Nuclear Medicine) is preferred. Ohio Department of Health Radiologic License (Nuclear Medicine) and ARRT (N) or NMTCB Certification are also required. Basic Life Support Certification completed within 30 days of hire is a must.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $34.87/hr. - $43.12/hr.
