Job Overview

The EHS Specialist II position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, health, and environmental requirements of our employees are met. The successful candidate will participate in and lead initiatives to implement safety and accident prevention policies, conduct workplace evaluations, and provide safety training.

Responsibilities
  • Implement Safety and Compliance Policies

The EHS Specialist II will be responsible for implementing safety and accident prevention policies in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Evaluate Workplace Environments and Equipment

The candidate will evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

Conduct Safety Training and Investigations

The EHS Specialist II will conduct safety training and demonstrate the use of safety equipment, as well as investigate accidents to identify cause and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.

Serve as a Safety Advisor and Liaison

The successful candidate will serve in an advisory capacity to management and liaison with OSHA inspections and correspondence or with other department/entities (internal or external) as required.

Represent the Company in Industry Safety Groups

The EHS Specialist II will represent the company in community and industry safety groups, programs, and conferences.

Stay Current with Industry Developments

The candidate will keep abreast of current developments of training, safety, and accident prevention programs.

Maintain Records and Reports

The EHS Specialist II will maintain records and assembling reports on lost time accidents.

Implement Hazardous Material Control

The successful candidate will implement hazardous material control.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

A bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent education/safety experience is required.

Related Safety Engineering Certifications

Related safety engineering certifications are preferred.

Five Years of Safety Engineering Experience

Five years of safety engineering experience is required.

Proactive and Initiative-Taking

The successful candidate will be proactive and initiative-taking.

Technical Capacity

The EHS Specialist II will have technical capacity.

Organizational Skills

The candidate will have organizational skills.

Strategic Thinking

The successful candidate will have strategic thinking.

Problem Solving/Analysis
